We experimented with collage this afternoon. This was David's first collage, made from the contents of a packet we picked up at the library earlier this week. He'll return it to the library where it will be displayed as part of the Fancy February Art program.
After he finished the library collage, he worked on another Peter Pan themed one. At first he was excited about cutting out bits of old magazines, but he got a bit distracted by the big tube of glue instead.
Here is the finished Peter Pan collage. In the center is the tree where the Lost Boys live. Peter Pan, Captain Hook and the redskins are at the bottom of the collage. The dots near the top are fireworks.
Of course, I had to get in on the crafty action as well. I chose to draw a simple flower and then collage each portion of it using snippets of an old children's magazine.
